Visualised #5: Culture Recovery Fund Grants - Rounds 1 & 2
Updated 2 April 2021
Arts Council England have announced the recipients of grants from their Culture Recovery Fund. The CRF is part of a £1.57 billion package to protect the UK’s culture and heritage sectors from the economic impacts of Covid-19.
There have been three sets of grants under the CRF:
Round 1a: for awards of up to £1 million, with £257 million given to 1,385 organisations.
Round 1b: again, for up to £1 million, giving £76.65 million to 589 organisations.
Round 1c: for awards of between £1-3 million, with £75 million given to 35 organisations
Round 2: £261 million given to 2,272 organisations (announced 2 April 2021)
To get a better idea of who’s been awarded what, we’ve taken the data published by Arts Council England and visualised them using a simple data explorer format (similar to what we previously did for National Lottery Heritage Fund grants).
You can see the full visualisation here (or click on the image below).
As well as the dropdowns and slider, you’ll find that clicking the rows of any of the tables will filter the rest of the report.
Behind the scenes
Alix Geddes created this visualisation using Google Data Studio, and Chris Unitt added the 2nd and 3rd round data when it was published. The data comes from Arts Council England’s website. It was added to a Google Sheet and then connected to Google Data Studio. Nice and simple.
